Kristensen L-handles

Kristensen L-handles

The classic Kristensen surcingle is the one with the L-shaped handles. The first surcingle ever with angled handles and the first design from Lasse Kristensen. When the Kristensen surcingle was introduced to the vaultingworld in the end of the last millennium, a new vaulting-era began with never before seen exercises, grips and ways to move on the horse.

The new handles also offered a biomechanical improvement, making a large number of exercises much easier to perfect. Among the compulsories the swing-exercises and the flag.

The lower pads and the lower handles resulting in a lower center of gravity made a great difference not only to the vaulter but also to the horse, because the Kristensen surcingle is offering great stability and thereby minimizing the impact on the horse.

Even though it is more than 10 years ago that the Kristensen surcingle was introduced, it is still a very popular vaulting-surcingle both in Europe and the US, and several details has been updated over the years, and the surcingle is still a brilliant choice and is highly recommended for its biomechanical brilliance and among a lot of things, it has proven extremely succesfull for youngsters learning to stand in the handles and to do the handstand as well.
The surcingle is of course born with the uniqe pattented side-rein system.

The surcingle is as usual for Kristensen surcingles, handmade in leather over a center of spring-steel, which ensures the perfect fit for the horse. The pads are also the classic low pads, which lowers the handles and thereby lowering the center of gravity to ensure stability of the girth even under the power of a moving vaulter.

The LD-surcingle is available in white, black, brown, bordeaux etc. You can get it with standard pads or velcropads, and it's also selectable whether it should be with power-girth or standard undergirth.
